At present, Rod is one of the most experienced orthotists in Australia.

Rod was trained as an Orthotist/Prosthetist at Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences in Melbourne, graduating in 1987.

In 1997 Rod completed further post graduate studies and was awarded a Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics from La Trobe University in Melbourne.

Rod is a certified Orthotist/Prosthetist member with the Australian Orthotic and Prosthetic Association.

Rod began his career in Melbourne, working at two large orthotic clinics. 

In 1993, Rod established Gold Coast Orthotics in Southport which was the first orthotic clinic on the Gold Coast operated by a fully university trained orthotist.

Rod has previously provided orthotic services at the following hospitals:

GOLD COAST UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL– Principal orthotist to Neurosurgical and orthopedic department 1993 – 2020.
